New photovoltaic plant in Probishtip

07.03.2024

EVN Macedonia Elektrani put into operation its new photovoltaic power plant in Probishtip with an installed capacity of 11MWp. With this, the company will increase its production portfolio of realized investments in photovoltaic systems in the country to 20MWp.

The planned annual production of the new power plant is 16 GWh, which equates to electricity supply for c.a. 4,000 households per year.

The event to mark the start of operation of the photovoltaic power plant in Probishtip was attended by the Management Board of EVN Macedonia headed by Mr. Wolfgang Maier, who stated that with this investment the company is one step closer to its strategic goal of 60 MWp of installed power in renewable energy until 2030.

Photovoltaic power plant "Probishtip" is located near the village of Buchishte, municipality of Probishtip. It was built as a complex of 3 power plants with individual powers of 450kWp, 950kWp and 9500kWp. A total of 20148 bifacial panels with an individual installed power of 535 Wp, as well as 42 inverters with an individual power of 250kW, have been installed. It is connected to the distribution network through 6 distributed substations.

The newly built photovoltaic power plant in Shtip with a capacity of 4 MWp is also in operation. With the existing capacities, 138t of CO2 will be reduced annually during the production of electricity, which will significantly contribute to the preservation of the environment.

Investing in renewable sources of electricity will continue in 2024, in a new 10 MWp in the vicinity of Kumanovo as well as 3.3 MWp in the vicinity of Prilep.
