The new substation "Shtip 1" that was put into operation encourages the local development in the Shtip region. The official start of operation of the substation was attended by the Chairman of the Management Board of EVN Macedonia, Mr. Wolfgang Maier and the mayor of the municipality of Shtip, Mr. Ivan Jordanov.
"Satisfying the needs of our customers and supply reliability are always key factors in creating the company's long-term goals. We are happy to provide the citizens of Shtip with an even better supply of electricity and support their ideas for the production of electricity from renewable sources," said the Chairman of the Management Board of EVN Macedonia, Mr. Wolfgang Maier.
During the visit, possibilities for additional investments in the distribution network in the interest of local development were discussed.
The mayor of the municipality of Shtip, Mr. Ivan Jordanov, expressed his gratitude to the company and announced that the cooperation between the municipality and the company will continue in the future.
"With excellent cooperation, we reached another significant goal that will continuously serve the benefit of the citizens. This significantly improves the quality of life, but also the conditions for conducting business and investing in green energy, which is in accordance with our Energy Efficiency Strategy, through which it is planned an increase of the use of renewable energy by 20% until 2026” said Mr. Jordanov.
The last upgrade of the substation "Shtip 1" allows the existing customers of the Shtip region a reliable and high-quality supply of electricity, despite the connection to the distribution network of future customers and potential producers from renewable energy. This huge investment worth 2 million euros directly encourages and supports the economic development of Shtip's surroundings, taking into account the increased dynamics and interest of citizens in the construction of production facilities from renewable energy sources.
